When our 7 year old, Rance was diagnosed with Perthes Disease, I had to slow down. I had to step back and regroup and most of all, rethink my priorities. My family has always been right below The Heavenly Father but I would sometimes shuffle them to the side to do less important things. Now, the dishes can wait awhile, there is a book to be read to listening ears. Kisses and tickles take a while longer. A bon-fire roasted hotdog taste alot better while watching the boys chase lighting bugs. To me, this represents "Simplify". Being simplified is not just a decorating idea, it is a truly wonderful and passionate way of life.

Please stop and enjoy life a little more. It does not matter what is going on in your life... someone has always got it worse. I seen families at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital going through more than I ever could imagine. Thank God for His love and your family. I wanted to share this picture that was taken in Pigeon Forge, TN before Rance's surgery. The photographer asked me if I wanted the boys to be outlaws or cowboys. I wanted them to be gentlemen.
